Loss and Grief Support

Loss and grief are profound experiences that can be incredibly challenging to navigate. Whether mourning the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any other form of loss, it's important to allow individuals to process these emotions in their own time. Most people experience multiple losses in life and for the most part will naturally work through these losses in a way that resonates with them. But from time to time, the loss may be too much for the individual to process on their own and this is where some extra support may be helpful.

Counselling support for loss and grief can be incredibly helpful in providing individuals with a safe space to process their emotions, navigate their feelings of sadness and pain, and develop healthy coping mechanisms to journey through the grieving process. Counselling can offer guidance, validation, and tools to help individuals honour their emotions, find solace, and start to move forward in their healing journey. Through counselling individuals can gain a sense of understanding, acceptance, and hope as they learn to navigate life after loss.

Counselling can be very beneficial for individuals experiencing complicated grief, a type of prolonged and intense grief reaction that can be more challenging to process and move forward with. Individuals may experience feelings of judgement, dwelling on the past, blaming oneself, feelings that it would be disrespectful to the deceased to move on, do not allow themselves to have fun, and lots of fusion with unhelpful thoughts.

Simone will work with individuals to practice grounding, self compassion, values/goal setting, and defusion techniques to unhook from unhelpful thought patterns and start getting the client back to living the best life they can.

Loss and grief is a natural part of life, but if it comes to a point where it is taking over everyday living, counselling can be a good option.
